The light will tend to glow from the top and bottom of the shade with a tone of the lining colour. The gold linings projects a warm (more yellow) glow out from the inside of the shade. I only use high quality fabrics, bonded to a fire retardant PVC lining, which has passed the glow wire test carried out by the Lighting Association.
